In times like these, it is difficult to be optimistic – to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Right now, we are longing for how things used to be; wishing we could hug our loved ones, go to work, see our friends…have a full stock of toilet paper;).
In the past few weeks, my kids and I have hiked up the hill behind our home twice a day. Not only has it helped us stay active, but it has proven to be quite therapeutic. The trek up the hill is not easy, it’s steep and physically exhausting, but the feeling of achievement once we reach the top is truly special. Then, we are breezing down the same road that was so difficult to climb.
We know that this struggle is necessary to maintain the health and safety of others, and that it might even change the world for the better in the future.
There is a light at the end of all of this, though we may not be able to see it just yet, we just need to keep climbing. One day, it will all be worth it.
